The Romans/Bourg de Péage Expansion Joint Economic Association was set up in 2006 by the associated councils of Canton de Bourg de Péage and of the Pays de Romans. This organisation involves the pooling of human and financial resources for the implementation of economic policy on an appropriate local scale within an area in which people live, work and access services.
Powers delegated by the Associated Councils:
- Economic leadership and promotion
- Reception of new business creators
- Strategy and engineering of business areas
- Administration of business areas allocated to member EPCIs (public institutions for inter-council
co-operation)
- Economic development research
- Coordination of tourist offices and reception of investors in tourist projects
- General preparatory research for contractual policies to promote commerce and craftsmanship,
and coordination of plans (measures/funds to support and restructure trade and crafts (ORAC/FISAC).
